True Sons of Freedom Exhibit

The True Sons of Freedom exhibit explores the worlds of twenty-four Virginians who fought overseas to defend freedoms they were denied at home. The exhibit will be on display from September through November. Learn more about the exhibit here.

Reception: Monday, Oct. 21, 6:30 p.m. at Cascades Library. Barbara Batson, from the Library of Virginia, discusses the cultivation and preservation of these photographs and the history associated with them. In the words of one African American veteran from Richmond, “It was my duty to defend the standards of My country where my Freedom is sought.”
