Feel free to bring your needlework or other quiet projects.

This year's 1book 1community title is All American Boys by Jason Reynolds and Brendan Kiely. This award-winning young adult novel is the story of two teens, one black and one white: Rashad, who is savagely beaten by a police office when he's mistaken for a thief, and Quinn, who witnesses the violence but (initially) pretends he didn't. Readers can meet both authors at this free public presentation at Tuscarora High School, 801 N. King St., Leesburg. They will discuss their work and answer questions. Book sale and signing, courtesy of Second Chapter Books, to follow. This program is made possible by the Irwin Uran Gift Fund.
